Earth Month takes place during April every year as Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd every year. It’s meant to raise awareness of the need to take action to protect the environment and promote sustainable living practices.
As a small business, we have taken sustainability seriously at Joulala from the start. All of our jewellery is crafted with recycled precious metals whenever possible, thereby reducing the need for virgin mining and avoiding the unnecessary environmental impacts.
We partner and work with members of the Responsible Jewellery Council, which ensures transparency in the sourcing of materials. Our aim is to create jewellery that has a long lifespan, the hope being that when the time comes for it to be discarded, it can be recycled or upcycled.
We are far from perfect, but that does not stop us from working towards a more sustainable future. We understand the responsibility of business owners in the fight against climate change, and are willing to do our part. Here are some of the ways in which we are making every day Earth Day!
Firstly, we practice carbon offsetting with all of our domestic, international, and courier shipments. We have also opted to use eco-friendly packaging whenever possible. Additionally, with our current Komodo dragons’ inspired collection, 10% of proceeds will go to support diverse conservation projects which actively bring attention to the endangered creatures and the preservation of their habitats.
The time is now to ‚Invest In Our Planet‘, through making small changes ourselves and supporting small business such as Joulala, we can all do our part to preserve our planet and engage in sustainable living. Earth Day should be celebrated every day – by leading more eco-friendly lifestyles, we can make the world a healthier place for future generations.
